Babylon Releases First Trailer Starring Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva

The star-studded ensemble film Babylon has uncovered its first trailer, showing the evil that bristled in Hollywood during the 1920s. Babylon comes from Foundation Grant winning director Damien Chazelle and features some huge names driving the cast, such as Slug Train’s Brad Pitt, Harley Quinn star Margot Robbie, and Te Prometo Anarquía’s Diego Calva. While those three make up the headliners, some other natural faces can be found in the Babylon trailer, including Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire, Scorching Stew Peppers musician Bug, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins’ Samara Winding around, and Don’t Stress Sweetheart’s Olivia Wilde.
The trailer for the Principal Pictures film begins with Margot Robbie and Diego Calva taking drugs together and discussing how they need to develop their growing Hollywood careers. Various super charged scenes are intercut during their conversation, incorporating wild big name parties with stripped individuals. “At the point when I first moved to L.A., signs on every one of the doors said: ‘No actors or dogs permitted,'” Pitt’s personality says. “That’s what I changed.”
Damien Chazelle wasn’t positive he could make a film like Babylon when he started creating it 15 years prior, however successes like Fantasy world and First Man reassured him that he could pull off the huge spectacle necessary to rejuvenate Babylon.
“It was actually a wild West period for these individuals, this exhibition of characters, as they rise and fall, rise, fall, rise once more, fall once more,” Chazelle told Vanity Fair. “What they’re building is springing back on them and biting them up.”
Per Vanity Fair, the film “features a cast of (mostly imaginary people) whose dreams of popularity and success rest on exploring a perilous town.” It has the visual excess of something like Fantasy world, which in itself felt like it owed an obligation to Baz Luhrmann, whose hyper-stylized and meticulously-designed films like Moulin Rouge and Elvis will generally focus less on story and more on tone and style.
From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is a unique legendary set in 1920s Los Angeles drove by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A story of outsized desire and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during a period of unrestrained wantonness and degeneracy in early Hollywood.
The film stars Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, P.J. Byrne, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Tobey Maguire, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston, Insect, Jeff Garlin, Eric Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Samara Winding around, and Olivia Wilde.
Babylon is scheduled for restricted release on December 25, trailed by a wide release on January 6, 2023.
