Disney’s 100th Anniversary Title Card Revealed
At the D23 Expo, Disney revealed another title card commending its 100th anniversary. The Walt Disney Organization started its existence in 1923, which makes 2023 the organization’s centennial. The new title card will show up in front of films appearing during the anniversary festivity. It keeps the notorious Disney castle first presented in 1985 while adding Disney 100 to the image. Last year, the organization revealed the Disney 100 logo, with and without recognizable mascots Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse jumping out of the zeroes. The logo and characters are highly contrasting, getting back to back to the earliest days of movement.
Disney is commending the anniversary at D23 this end of the week with the Step in Time show, showing off items from the Walt Disney Archives. Disney also previously declared that SC Exhibitions is delivering a display to showcase Disney’s history. The showcase will debut at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia in February 2023. The show will incorporate galleries highlighting items from the Walt Disney Archives and an immersive climate spanning 15,000 square feet.
“As we approach the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Organization, we at the Walt Disney Archives are inconceivably amped up for voyaging a new and remarkable display denoting hundred years of unmatched development and storytelling with the world,” said Rebecca Cline, head of the Walt Disney Archives. “This earth shattering display will commend the marvel of Disney, from 1923 to the present and into what’s in store.”
Co-Keeper Paula Sigman Lowery, a Disney historian, said, “It’s outright exhilarating to bring Disney’s royal gems — craftsmanship, memorabilia, costumes, props, and unique treasures — to general visibility — and to investigate the story of one of the world’s most inventive diversion companies. Large numbers of these objects have until recently never been seen outside the organization’s chronicled, liveliness, and Imagineering vaults.”
President and Chief of The Franklin Institute Larry Dubinski added, “The Franklin Institute is excited to make a big appearance this world debut display in Philadelphia during the surprising 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Organization. We anticipate praising the tradition of an inventive domain synonymous with creative storytelling, development, discovery, and marvel that spans generations and delivers widespread, evident worldwide allure.”
The display will send off in February 2023 at The Franklin Institute. There will also be one more staging for territories outside the U.S. starting in Walk 2023.
The D23 Expo is occurring this end of the week. Friday brought the first-ever Disney and Wonder games showcase and the Disney Liveliness board. This midday sees what many consider the headliner, the Wonder Studios, Lucasfilm, and twentieth Century Studios board. The display will send off in February 2023 at The Franklin Institute. There will be a second, equal staging for territories outside the U.S. in Walk 2023.
