Assuming Activision’s huge Vital mission at hand series ends up being a Xbox console exclusive later on, that could make for a “tremendous open door” for the Front line games, Electronic Arts boss Chief Andrew Wilson has speculated. These comments were shared as of late in response to questions about EA’s various IPs and how it appears to handle them later on. On a more extensive scale, the comments also came in the midst of ongoing speculation and discussion about whether or not Extraordinary mission at hand will ultimately be exclusive to Xbox and Windows PC platforms, and assuming that happens, what such a move could mean for the industry at large.
During a Goldman Sachs-hosted occasion (through Eurogamer and transcribed by Seeking Alpha), Wilson spoke about two or three different EA IPs including the FIFA games, Pinnacle Legends, and, of course, Front line. Wilson referred to the ongoing discussions surrounding Important mission at hand and suggested that the “stage agnostic” nature of the War zone games could be good for EA’s conflict games.
“And in our current reality where there might be questions over the eventual fate of Vital mission at hand and what platforms that may be on or probably won’t be on, being stage agnostic and totally cross-stage with Front line, I believe is a tremendous open door,” Wilson said.
While not expressly spelled out, Wilson’s comments here are suggesting that assuming PlayStation users are one day at this point not ready to play Vital mission at hand on their devices should it become a Xbox exclusive on consoles, War zone will be the following significant conflict series accessible to PlayStation owners and will probably be the one they go to.
One could continue speculating about what could tempt PlayStation users to shift to Combat zone more should exclusivity talks work out as expected, yet it’s tough to do so considering that we don’t know precisely the way in which this will work out. What we truly do know per comments from PlayStation boss Jim Ryan is that Microsoft has supposedly offered to keep Important mission at hand on PlayStation consoles for the following three years after the ongoing arrangement between Activision and Sony ends. Ryan says that proposal is “deficient,” and Xbox boss Phil Spencer has since said the organization plans to continue putting Important mission at hand on platforms where individuals will need to play it.
